Palm Desert Tilted Kilt Reopens Monday

It was just over a year ago, that the restaurant shut its doors for an extended "summer vacation." Now, those famous female servers are back.

The Tilted Kilt restaurant will once again be open for business in Palm Desert, officially serving food and drinks to the public as of Monday.

The restaurant-- both building and franchise-- was purchased "turn key" in August after about a year on the market, according to Irene DiVito, of the commercial real estate brokerage firm Baxley Properties, who handled the sale.

The owner wishes the price of sale to remain confidential, DiVito said.  However the property was initially listed at $3.5 million last year, according to previous reports.  Since that time, though, the bank took ownership of the property.

The restaurant chain, famous for its midriff baring female servers, first opened in early 2009, but closed its doors in July 2011.

At that time, a sign at the front of the building stated: “The cast and crew are on summer vacation while we enhance our pub with elements to make for an even greater customer experience.”

According to The Desert Sun, $350,000 has been put into upgrades at the location, which include an 1,800 square foot patio expansion, 48 new televisions and a new sound system.

The Tilted Kilt is located at 72-191 Highway 111, just north of Fred Waring Drive.

The location will be open every day from 11 a.m. until midnight, according to their website.
