Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism officials on Wednesday touted recent awards for the city Convention Center and two hotels.
In its September 2013 issue, the magazine Smart Meetings recognized the Palm Springs Convention Center, the Parker Palm Springs and Riviera Palm Springs, according to Hillary Angel of the city Bureau of Tourism.
The Convention Center, Parker Palm Springs and Riviera Palm Springs were named in the magazine's inaugural Smart Stars Awards, "celebrating
the best premier meetings hotels, resorts, cruise lines, event venues,
and convention and conference centers in North America across 25
categories," according to Angel.
Bureau of Tourism officials listed the honorees as follows:

Smart Star Bronze Winners
Best Convention Center: Palm Springs Convention Center

North America," James Canfield, executive director of Palm Springs
and the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, said in a statement. "Our stunning views, distinctive
architecture and hotel partners define that we are truly like no place
else for a meeting or convention."
The Palm Springs Convention Center is billed as a 261,000-square-foot facility that
includes up to 112,000 square feet of exhibit space, 19 total
breakout rooms of various sizes, including a 20,000 square foot
wanted to give meeting professionals and properties the opportunity to
celebrate the best of the best in categories where they shine for group
business," Smart Meetings publisher Marin Bright said. "It
is also an opportunity to focus on specific attributes that make
meetings and events memorable at these top-notch properties."
