Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism Touts Trio of New and Renovated Hotels

The Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism is touting three new and renovated hotels scheduled to open this fall.

From the news release:

Anchored in the heart of downtown, the
Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs is set to open on October 4, 2013, in the former location of the Hotel Zoso. With the growing international attraction of Coachella Music Festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival, the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs will definitely meet the needs for guests seeking a “rock star” experience. The 163-room property is the brand’s second lifestyle hotel in Southern California and will offer a new pool and outdoor space, VIP rock star suite, the brand’s iconic merchandise, and work out and spa facilities, and a live entertainment venue.

From retro inns to Mediterranean-inspired villas, Palm Springs has a collection of over 70 small hotels and historic inns. The former owners of the Korakia Pensione are opening
Sparrows Hotel, a 19-room ranch style getaway on October 1, 2013.  The 1950s property was previously known as El Rancho Lodge and has been completely overhauled and restored. Each room is adorned with its own outdoor fireplace, hand-built furniture and the property’s original barn will be the focal point for communal dining and entertainment. Sparrows Hotel is located in South Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive near The Horizon Hotel, Desert Riviera, La Maison, and trendy resorts such as The Saguaro and Ace Hotel & Swim Club.

A new hotel called
The Monroe Palm Springs officially opened its doors on September 1, 2013 and has dropped its corporate flag as an America’s Best Value Inn. Following the trend of modern mid-size hotels opening in Palm Springs, The Monroe Palm Springs has established a footprint when it comes to green practices. The new owners took the initiative during the renovation to recycle and repurpose as many of the materials throughout the property including the pool towel bins made from the window sills during the room renovation. The Monroe Palm Springs is pet-friendly, and offers its guests complimentary Wi-Fi access, complimentary coffee and snacks, laundry facility, and complimentary hot breakfast at the neighboring Rick’s Restaurant and Bakery.

In addition to the trio of hotels expected to open this fall in Palm Springs, there are four new properties that have been opened since November 2012 including The Skylark Hotel (formerly Camp Palm Springs), The Curve Hotel (formerly Travelodge Palm Springs), Random Haus Palm Springs, Travelodge (formerly Cambridge Inn) and Bearfoot Inn, a men’s resort. Recent property renovations include Hilton Palm Springs and Riviera Palm Springs.
