Preps Underway for Annual Golf Cart Parade

This year's theme: "American Pride"

One of the desert's most anticipated events is coming up fast -  the 48th annual Golf Cart Parade in Palm Desert.

Arguably the most unique and colorful event in the valley returns on Sunday, October 28th at 1:00 p.m as decorated golf carts, floats and marching bands move along El Paseo.

The largest parade of its kind, the Golf Cart Parade with this year's theme of "American Pride", also features "food booths, children's games and activities, celebrities, dignitaries and more," according to City of Palm Desert spokesman David Hermann.

The Palm Desert Rotary starts the fun with a pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. in the Bank of America parking lot.  A Golf Cart show featuring historic and custom golf carts follows at 10:00 a.m. on El Paseo.

Free seating is available on the parade route, and "Main Street Seats" offer premier seating with concierge service and lunch at $25.00 per seat, or $250 for a VIP box.   Seating is limited and reservations are required.

Presenting sponsor the Auen Foundation is offering free seating for seniors 65 and over with convenient parking at The Gardens on El Paseo, along with a free boxed lunch.  Space is limited, and reservations are required for the senior seating.

To reserve seats call (760) 346-6111 or click here.

@B.K.-- Thank you for your help with the community :) I have a great respect for all teachers!

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
