Whole Foods to Open Palm Desert Location

Whole Foods, a natural and organic food store, will be opening a Palm Desert location in the fall of 2013.

The move into Palm Desert is one of eleven new locations the company announced leases for via Twitter and Facebook on Thursday.

"We’re really excited to bring Whole Foods to Palm Desert," said Ruth Ann Moore, Economic Development Director for the City of Palm Desert.

The Palm Desert location will be where the current Best Buy store is in the Town Center shopping center.  Best Buy had across Highway 111 to the Desert Crossing center, where it will open on August 15th. 

Whole Foods opened their first store, then called SaferWay, in Austin,Texas in 1978.
