California Desert Association of REALTORS®  Honors Heather Ozur  As 'Realtor® Of The Year'

PALM DESERT (Calif.) –    The California Desert Association of Realtor®   has named Heather Ozur  of The Ozur Group with Keller Williams Realty as 2013 " Realtor® of the Year."

Ozur, a former CDAR president in 2010, co-founder of the desert chapter of the Young Professionals Network and a member of strategic CDAR committees since 2005, was presented with the honor at the recent 2014 Real Estate Forecast  gathering of over 250 desert Realtors and affiliate members at Indian Wells Country Club.

"Heather has dedicated countless hours to the betterment of CDAR, serving on so many committees, including our Strategic Planning Committee which works on long term planning of our association,"  said CDAR President Sharon Rogers. "She has demonstrated her commitment to her profession in so many ways."

Ozur served as chair of the Strategic Planning Task Force in 2013.  She also co-chaired the Young Professionals Advisory in 2011-2012 and served as a member of the advisory in 2013.  She served on the Multiple Listing Service and Professional Standards Committees in 2012 and 2013 and the Technology Committee in 2013.  Ozur went on to serve both the California and National Associations of REALTORS® and is currently the president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® , California Chapter. 

In what may be a first at CDAR, Bryan Ozur, Heather's husband and account executive at American Home Shield Home Warranty, was honored as 2013 “Affiliate of the Year.” 

Bryan Ozur has served on the Affiliate committee since 2007 and served as chair for 2 years.  He has served on the Scholarship Committee since 2008, on the Community Service Committee from 2009-2011, on the Golf Committee since 2009 and on the Young Professionals Network since 2011.   In addition, Bryan Ozur is active in the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.  In the community,  he serves as co-chair of  the James Carter Parent Teacher Organization fundraising, a volunteer coach for the Palm Desert Youth Soccer Association and Family YMCA of the Desert and helped raise donations for the Palm Desert Swim Club.

The "Affiliate of the Year" is awarded to an affiliate in good standing who has:

• High professional standards and cooperation with other members
• Local/State/National Association Activity - leadership positions held and committee work, special assignments, seminar activity and educational work, membership and leadership positions held in chapters of institutes, societies and councils
• *Civic Activity - participation in civic and service clubs, charitable activities, commissions (e.g. member of City Planning Committee), fraternal or religious groups

            The "Realtor of the Year" is awarded to a full time agent, broker-manager who has:

• Realtor® Sprit – high principles of integrity, adherence to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and furtherance of the principles of good real estate practice among brokers/managers, agents and the general public.
• Business Accomplishments – professional business conduct and service to clients.
• Local/State/National Association Activity – leadership positions held and committee work, special assignments, seminar activity and educational work, membership and leadership positions held in chapters of institutes, societies and councils.
• Civic Activity – participation in civic and service clubs, charitable activities, commissions (e.g. member of City Planning Committee), fraternal or religious groups.
