Manatee County Rural Health Services offering Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment

 at eight locations in southwest Florida

 

(Bradenton, FL)—Manatee County Rural Health Services, Inc.’s (MCRHS) eight Certified Application Counselors in North Sarasota and Manatee, including Myakka, are accepting appointments to meet with consumers to assist them in enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace.

 

Members of the public are encouraged to call (855) 253-9098 to make an appointment to meet with a Certified Application Counselor at one of eight centers (listed below). Counselors will let consumers know what documents they will need to bring with them to the appointment to help expedite the process and save time. Enrollment is absolutely free.

 

Most of Manatee County Rural Health Services eight enrollment centers are open 8 a.m. to 5  p.m., daily. Some centers have extended hours to accommodate people who need to meet with a counselor after 5 p.m. For a list of centers with extended hours consumers can call (855) 253-9098.

 

The Health Insurance Marketplace is part of the Affordable Care Act, the health care law that enables U.S. citizens to purchase affordable health insurance. The Health Insurance Marketplace simplifies the search for affordable coverage by allowing consumers to see and compare health plan options in one place, and choose the plan that best suits their needs.

MCRHS’ mission is to deliver the highest quality primary and specialty care and preventative health education to anyone who needs its services, regardless of ability to pay. MCRHS is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the southeastern United States, based on the number of patients and patient visits. In fiscal 2012, MCRHS providers saw 92,789 patients, accounting for a total of 449,304 patient visits, and a total of $22,937,731 in services to the uninsured. MCRHS has received accreditation from the Joint Commission, the national accrediting organization for healthcare providers, for 14 consecutive years.
