Something Fun To Do

After living in the Coachella Valley for 30 years, I have a few favorite spots.  I might be crazy to share one of them, because the quietness of it is one of the great joys in it.  But, I guess, I am pretty sure, that for those of you that read all the way through this, even fewer will actually check the spot out.  You are the ones that should know about this spot.
Whitewater Preserve has changed over the years.  It used to be a great spot before you hit the preserve to bring a picnic or BBQ and let the kids play in the river/creek.
Then the Trout Farm got kind of popular and it was a good spot to teach kids how to fish.
Now, it is just a quiet, peaceful, escape.  The Wildlands Conservancy, purchased the land that is surrounded by BLM land.  They spruced it up and now maintain it.

There is a fantastic picnic area, a beautiful path that leads and wanders around 3 fish ponds that are well stocked.  Sometimes the Ranger will give you a cup of fish food to give to the fish, and oh do the kids love that!

There is a campground with restrooms and a sink, no showers.  You are welcome to stay for 3 days, just check in with the Ranger.

There is a very cool wading pool to cool off in, that looks like a natural pond.  And then, there are the trails.  So many trails, I tend to just head to the river and kick back there.  I have hiked on a couple of the other trails but I find just relaxing by the flowing water is best.

Speaking of water, it is pretty low right now, so you have to trek a little further out to enjoy it and it isn't very deep….
If you love it as much as I do and want to move closer, I have a great 3 bedroom 2 bath huge lot and pool for sale nearby.  If you like the mountain views there, you will love what this home has to offer (9578 El Mirador, Desert Hot Springs).
