3.5 Earthquake Hits Desert Cities

No damage or injuries reported from quake centered in mountains south of Palm Desert

A moderate earthquake shook the Coachella Valley late this morning.   The quake, registering magnitude 3.5, stuck at 11:53 a.m. and was centered  13 miles east-south-east of Anza; 18 miles south-south-west of Palm Desert. 

The USGS says the quake has been reported as being felt in Palm Desert and as far away as Hemet and the northern parts of Indio. 

No damage or injuries have been reported.
