A 5-year-old boy was recovering Sunday evening after nearly drowning in a Palm Desert swimming pool.
The boy was found not breathing in the gated community's pool in the 77000 block of California Drive about 2 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.
A relative got the boy breathing by administering CPR and he was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. David Wright wrote in a news release.
