Bono Mack: Steve Jobs the 'Edison of 21st Century'

"I believe history will remember Steve Jobs as one of the greatest innovators of all time, the Thomas Edison of the 21st Century..," Bono Mack said in a statement to constituents following the death of the Apple co-founder and longtime CEO Wednesday.

Palm Desert's congresswoman, Mary Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs, likened the late Steve Jobs as the "Thomas Edison of the 21st Century."

In a statement to her constituents upon learning of the death of the former Apple CEO, after suffering from pancreatic cancer, Bono Mack said:

"I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Steve Jobs, the creative genius at Apple and one of the greatest technology pioneers of our time.  He will be greatly missed, and my heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.

"Steve's remarkable vision, never-give-up spirit and clarity of purpose helped to change the world in which we live.

"He had an uncanny knack for knowing what consumers wanted. And he delivered one cutting-edge product after another, improving the way that we access information, communicate with each other, shop online, and so many other ways that we now take for granted as part of our everyday lives.
