COD Unveils New Addition to its Solar Energy Program

The Desert Energy Enterprise Center now features the latest in solar technology for training potential solar energy workers.

College of the Desert showed off the newest addition to the Desert Energy Enterprise Center this morning in Palm Springs.

The DEEC unveiled a 120-foor solar parabolic tough designed to train participants in concentrating solar thermal technology.

“The desert region is at the center of the rapidly growing renewable energy industry,” said Karen Douglas, Commissioner of the Solar Energy Commission.  “College of the Desert has built an excellent utility-scale solar training program from the ground up to ensure that the new solar power plants will have a highly skilled workforce available to meet their needs.”
