Get Out: Five Ways To Remember 9/11

This weekend, we remember.

This weekend provides plenty of opportunities for reflection. Catch falling flowers, speak with the director of a thoughtful film and light a candle at a special 9/11 concert.

Our goal is to make the Get Out planner as reliable as possible, but keep in mind, some events change at the last minute. We advise calling ahead just in case.

Why Go: Director James Ronald Whitney will appear at both screenings to introduce the film and moderate question and answer sessions. The award-winning film documents 10 days in young Nicholas Lanza’s life; he is a boy whose mother has been killed in 9/11. The film also follows 16-year-old Thanbir Ahmed, a Muslim, whose father, a waiter at Windows On The World, died that day as well. Whitney explores the evolving friendship between these two boys from very different cultures brought together by tragedy.
