GET PREPARED: Free Disaster Readiness Workshop in Palm Desert

The free event will be held today, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and will offer up lunch to guests.

The American Red Cross will offer a free disaster preparedness workshop in Palm Desert today.

The workshop, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 39-665 Entrepreneur Lane, Suite A, will be hosted by KESQ Channel 3 anchor Karen Devine.

Information will be presented about how to be ready for storms, floods, fires, earthquakes and other disasters, according to organizers.

Lunch will be provided for participants.

Space is limited, and reservations are needed. RSVP by calling (800) 831- 0031, ext. 3003, or sending an  email to kathy.ashkins@redcross.org.

You really think you could have announced this maybe, I don't know, last week, so people could plan!!!!??? Why tell us today that 2 hours ago, as I read the article, there is a free disaster workshop? The only disaster here is your reporting!!!

Sorry for the late notice, Laurie. We actually didn't catch it until last night, so we made sure that it went out in this morning's newsletter at the very least. Sorry for not getting the word out sooner!

Thank you for your response. The tone of my comment was frustration, this is not the first time a, "today", event has been posted too late for your readers to participate. Hoping for more notice in the future :-)
