Local Military Wives Plan To Give Back

The women were awarded a fellowship as part of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, which expands their financial education offerings in support of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Joining Forces" Initiative.

Two wives of Marines at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base recently awarded a FINRA Foundation’s Military Spouse Fellowship plan to give back to local military families.

Bethany Pettus and Kristen Stratton, who will be given training to earn an Accredited Financial Counselor® designation, said they understand the hardships military families face.

"(I hope to) use the Accredited Financial Counselor designation to help military families because there are so many uncertainties in the military; financial well-being does not have to be one of them,'' Stratton said.
