Power goes out in Palm Desert

Most had their electricity restored within several hours.

A power outage affected 1,033 Southern California Edison customers in Palm Desert Tuesday, and all but 100 had their electricity restored within several hours.

The outage occurred about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday after underground equipment failed, Edison spokesman Paul Klein said.

Most of the affected customers were back online by around 8 a.m. in the area north of Quail Valley Court, south of Bursera Way, east of Silver Spur Trail and west of Paisano Road, he said.

The utility was working to restore power to the remaining 107 customers, expected by 1 a.m. Wednesday, in the area north of Mesa View Drive, south of Homestead Road, east of Beverly Drive and west of Alamo Drive, Klein said.
