Screenwriter of New Denzel Washington Movie Answering Questions in Palm Desert

Moviegoers will get an extra treat at the Cinemas Palme D'Or this weekend, with a chance to ask questions of the "Flight" screenwriter.

The man who penned the screenplay to "Flight" will answer questions about the soon-to-be-released film starring Denzel Washington following a screening Friday at Cinemas Palme D'Or.

The 6:30 p.m. screening featuring screenwriter John Gatins is billed as an "exclusive sneak peak" of the movie, which is scheduled to open on Nov. 2.

Director Robert Zemeckis' first live action film since "Cast Away" in 2000 is about an investigation into a jetliner's emergency landing, which saves the passengers but reveals that the pilot had alcohol in his system during the flight and could go to prison.

On Tuesday, producer Irwin Yablans will answer questions after the 7:30 p.m. screening of his 1978 horror classic "Halloween" starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
