A man suspected of smashing in the doors and stealing from the Louis Vuitton store on El Paseo was behind bars Wednesday, sheriff's deputies announced.
30-year-old Hollian Hannah, of La Verne, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 1-- about two hours after the break-in, Sheriff's Sergeant David Smith said.
Hannah was apparently nabbed when deputies spotted him driving a stolen vehicle matching the description of the one used in the burglary. When authorities tried to pull him over-- he ran, Smith said.
"The driver, later identified as Hollian Hannah, 30 years of La Verne, California was detained after a short foot chase," Smith said.
The La Verne man was initially arrested on charges related to the theft of the car, before investigators linked him to the El Paseo crime, he added.
"The follow up investigation identified Hannah as one of the suspects involved in the Louis Vuitton burglary," Smith said. "An additional charge of commercial burglary was added to Hannah's criminal charges."
Smith said that another suspect is still sought in connection to the El Paseo theft, after the two got away with an undisclosed amount of merchandise.
Jail records indicate Hannah was being held at the Indio jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
