TRAFFIC ALERT: Prepare for Stagecoach RVs to Roll Into Valley, Roads to Avoid

As an estimated 55,000 head to the music festival in Indio this weekend, locals should prepare for some extra traffic around town.

With the three-day Stagecoach country music festival coming to Indio Friday, traffic delays are expected in and around the Empire Polo Club.

The gates open at 11 a.m. Friday, and motorists should expect delays when traveling around town— especially through Indio and La Quinta, Indio Community Services Manager Jim Curtis said.

According to Billboard Boxscore, the country music festival saw an approximate attendance each day last year of 55,000 people.  Though ticket sales numbers aren't yet available for this year, a comparable size crowd is expected— many of whom will pull into town in their recreation vehicles for camping on site.

As such, traffic will likely be backed up in the morning hours Friday as drivers head to the polo grounds, and again on Monday morning, as they head out of town.

The city of Indio says the following roads will be closed, Friday through Sunday:
