'Woman's Show' Caters to Females with Health Info, Lectures, Pampering

The two-day women's expo is billed as a "girl's day out" and will feature food, wine, health and beauty information, along with a series of presentations.

Thousands of women will converge on the Palm Desert area this weekend, as the fifth annual Desert Woman's Show takes place.

The event drew some 5,000 attendees last year, and this year is expected to be even more packed, as it has expanded into two pavilions.

Hosted at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, the event is touted as the ultimate "girls day out" by organizers and features food samplings, more than 120 exhibitors, music and art, among other things.

"This is two full days of lectures, fashion shows, and demonstrations that will appeal to women who are interested in what's new, what's next and what's hot, right here in the Valley," said Diana Marlo, President of Marlo Productions.  "This event only comes once a year and is a not-to-miss celebration of women in our valley."

Some of the highlighted speakers include Dr. Drew Ordon of "The Doctors" fame and Michael Costello of Project Runway.

Tickets cost $15 per day at the door, or $25 per day for tickets including Taste of the Valley.

You can also buy advance tickets online, and learn more about the event, at www.DesertWomansShow.com

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
