Cheetah Day & Special Guest at The Living Desert

The Living Desert welcomes Dr. Laurie Marker, recognized as one of the world’s leading cheetah experts, for a special presentation on Thursday, April 24.   


Celebrating the Cheetah around Dr. Marker’s visit, there will be several activities taking place in addition to her presentation, and visitors to the zoo wearing cheetah print receive half price general admission tickets.



The schedule of activities

for April 24 include:

  • 9 – 10:00 a.m.: Enrichment Activity at Cheetah Exhibit
  • 10 – 11:00 a.m.:  Special Presentation by Dr. Marker for zoo members only
  • 11 – 12 Noon: “A Future for Cheetahs” Book Signing by Dr. Marker (Taking place at main patio) 
  • 1:30 – 2:00 p.m.: “Cheetah Chat” at the Cheetah Exhibit

at 10 a.m. in the Chase Administration building is available for zoo members

only and seating is limited.



Reservations are required by noon on April 23 to attend, on a space available basis.

General Admission is $17.25 for adults and children ages 3

to 12 years is $8.75 and children under 3 years old are free.  Seniors (62+), military and AAA members is

$15.75. Half price that day for those wearing cheetah print.
