Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival

The Wildflower Festival is a unique one day event held on the grounds of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center. Bring your family and friends for a free day of fun on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 9 am to 4 pm for the annual Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival. Welcome spring and wildflowers to the valley while you enjoy food, fun and education for the entire family.

For one wonderful Saturday, you can look for desert wildflowers on one of the guided hikes or walks offered by our dynamic volunteers on the trails near the Visitor Center, visit our extremely popular Kids’ Zone with arts and crafts for the children, and see local artists demonstrate their crafts and sell their wares. Animals from the Living Desert make appearances throughout the day. Specialty workshops are offered at various times and you can also learn about conservation and education activities at booths hosted by our partners including the Living Desert, California Native Plant Society, Big Bear Discovery Center, US Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. Beer and wine are available for those with proper ID. And there’s music too!

Happily, this event is free to the public, a wonderful way in which Friends of the Desert Mountains and their various partners and sponsors can help share in the beauty and wonder of our home.
