Desert Blood Services will hold three blood drives in the Coachella Valley over the next week, starting Tuesday.
The blood drives are scheduled:
- Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Xavier College Prep High School's
gym, 34-200 Cook St., Palm Desert;
- Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kmart, 81691 Highway 111, Indio; and
- Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Well Community Church, 42575
Melanie Place, Palm Desert.
Donors receive a free cholesterol screening and physical, according to Desert Blood Services.
Healthy people at least 15 years old can give blood, but those 15 and 16 years old must provide written parental consent. Photo identification is required, and all donors should eat before arriving and be well hydrated.
Desert Blood Services provides blood products for Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe and Bush Naval Hospital in Twentynine Palms.
