Toys for Tots Drive

PALM DESERT, CA—The Student Veterans Organization at College of the Desert (COD) has scheduled their 4th Annual Toy Drive, ‘Toys For Tots,’ for Nov. 25 to 27.

Student veterans and their support group will be collecting new unwrapped toys to be distributed to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Recruiters in Palm Desert. They will have a booth set up Nov. 25 through 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Westfield Palm Desert Shopping Center on the lower level near the Record Alley. One of Santa’s helpers, student Heather Graves dressed as an elf, will be on hand to accept the donations. A collection box will also be located on the College campus at the Veterans Office on the second floor of the Cravens Student Services Center.

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The goal is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic
citizens.
