Organizers with the Friends of Roy's Foundation are touting success of their inaugural week-long event Shop & Dine, Save & Support on El Paseo in Palm Desert.
"Throughout the week, everyone making a donation to the Friends of Roy’s helped our local homeless and received a 20% Discount Card for shopping and dining all week on El Paseo at participating stores and restaurants," reps for the non-profit foundation said Friday.
"Thanks to all who supported our event and this great cause! Look for us again next December . . . We'll be adding even more merchants to the list of participants!"
There's still a day left, according to organizers. Shop & Dine, Save & Support continues on Saturday Dec. 14.
The Friends of Roy's Foundation is billed as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Palm Desert. Proceeds shelp upport Roy's Desert Resource Center for local transitionally homeless, families, individuals and veterans.
