'Green' Architect Hosting Free Event at UCR Palm Desert

Green architecture is going to be addressed by discussing how design concepts, utilization of sustainable materials, alternative sources and respect for the natural environment should contribute to human habitat.

The following was submitted for publication by UCR Palm Desert:

“Holistic sustainability” is the focus of a lecture by eco-architect Norberto F. Nardi, who will speak at UCR Palm Desert at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25 as part of the Green Living Lecture Series.

Nardi’s philosophy is based on the idea that good architecture enhances quality of life while preserving a commitment to sustainability.

Through this presentation, Nardi's will explain the concept of holistic sustainability and the complex interaction of all its components (legal, political, social, financial, nature and design strategies). Nardi will also show case studies and examples from around the world.

Green architecture is going to be addressed by discussing how design concepts, utilization of sustainable materials, alternative sources and respect for the natural environment should contribute to human habitat. The Heckmann building at UCR Palm Desert, a Nardi design, will be used as an example of this process.

Mr. Nardi is the principle partner of Nardi Associates, LLP, an international architecture and urban design firm. He has more than 40 years of design experience and hundreds of varied projects to his credit including historic renovation, multi-family and custom housing, skyscrapers and offices, manufacturing facilities and educational institutions with a special emphasis on sustainable design.

This free event will take place in the auditorium at UCR Palm Desert, 75080 Frank Sinatra Drive.  Seating is limited, so RSVPs are recommended here: http://palmdesert.ucr.edu/programs/Green2013.html

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
