CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Hosting Memorial Day Observance on Friday

The ceremony will be held on the front patio of the Health Sciences Building at 3 p.m.

A pre-Memorial Day ceremony will be held Friday at Cal State San Bernardino's Palm Desert campus.

The event will include the presentation of colors by the Desert Hot Springs High School JROTC, a reflection by Navy chaplain Lt. Paul Armstrong, a 21-gun salute and "Taps" played by members of American Legion Post 519 in Palm Springs.

A flag flown over the Capitol in Washington, D.C., will be presented to the campus, and Joel Daniel, a retired Marine Corps gunnery sergeant, will play "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes, according to campus spokesman Mike Singer.
