Free Holiday Concerts at 'Forever Marilyn'

Free holiday concerts will be held at the "Forever Marilyn" statue in downtown Palm Springs Saturday night and Sunday.

The concerts are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 22 at Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way. Both will feature Celine Dion tribute performer Brigitte Valdez, the dance band New Sensations and the vocal group Just Like That.

The Palm Springs High School Madrigal Singers will be the guest performers  Saturday night and the Xavier High School choir on Sunday, according to organizer P.S. Resorts.

"We're excited to bring holiday cheer to downtown Palm Springs with free concerts for locals and visitors just before Christmas," said Aftab Dada, chairman of P.S. Resorts. "This is a great way to start your holiday celebrations early."

P.S. Resorts is a nonprofit that promotes Palm Springs tourism.

Several events have been held at "Forever Marilyn" since the sculpture arrived in Palm Springs from Chicago in May 2012.
