Historic Sunnylands to Host Earthquake Preparedness Day
Go behind the walls of the exclusive estate for an earthquake prep event
The Great California Shakeout will take place on October 18, but Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Rancho Mirage is getting a head start on getting ready for 'the big one'.
A day of earthquake preparedness has been scheduled for Sunday September 16, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
According the Sunnylands spokeswoman Mary Perry, a schedule of the demonstrations and lecture will be posted on the Sunnylands website in the near future. activities for children are also planned, including a display of emergency vehicles.

The event is in partnership with the Earthquake Country Alliance (ECA), San Bernardino County Museum, Southern California Earthquake Center, PREP (City of La Quinta's People Responding with Emergency Preparedness) and the Rancho Mirage Fire Department.
