Living Desert Co-Stars in 'Madagascar 3' Opening

The Living Desert is bringing its 'Zoo-Mobile' to the Mary Pickford Cinemas for Saturday's showing of 'Madagascar 3'.

The Living Desert’s ‘Zoo-Mobile’ is pulling up and the animals are taking over when audiences of the highly anticipated DreamWorks Animation film, MADAGASCAR 3: EUROPE'S MOST WANTED, are treated to the Living Desert's Wildlife on Wheels (WOW) program at the UltraStar Mary Pickford Cinemas.

To celebrate the movie’s opening weekend, a bevy of small mammals, birds, reptiles, invertebrates and animal educators will be on hand to provide live, free animal encounters to movie goers; courtesy of the Living Desert's "Wildlife On Wheels" program. This event takes place Saturday, June 9, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the lobby of the UltraStar Mary Pickford Cinemas in Cathedral City. Animal encounters are free, and tickets to see Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted will be available for purchase at the box office or online.

The Living Desert's Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Nyla Patzner said, "While many of our animals have that rare ‘star quality', we feel this experience is the closest they will ever get to actually being in the movies! We are excited to join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe and bring our zoo to the movies in celebration of what is sure to be the most animal-friendly movie of the summer."

“It’s such a treat to partner with the Living Desert and give our young guests the opportunity for real-life animal encounters, in addition to watching the beloved Madagascar crew on the big screen,” said UltraStar Cinemas’ publicist Sandy Moul. “We strive to make the movie going experience memorable for all our audiences and hope the community will join us for a fun-filled day!”
