Meet Skipper: Plane Depicted in New Disney Movie Showcased at Palm Springs Air Museum

Coachella Valley residents and visitors can check out one of the planes depicted in the new Disney movie "Planes" this weekend at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

The F4U Corsair will be on display at 1 p.m. Saturday as part of the museum's "Open Cockpit" events, in which people can sit in the plane's cockpit and pose for photos.

The character Skipper in "Planes," which opens today, is a Corsair. Disney recorded engine sounds from one of the museum's planes for Skipper's engine noise, according to the museum.
