Coroner: Banning Man Struck by Multiple Vehicles on I-10, Causing Death

A Toyota Camry driven by a 39-year-old Palm Desert man also struck the pedestrian, California Highway Patrol Officer Dejuan Harris said.

Coroner's officials have identified Saturday the man killed when he walked into traffic on busy Interstate 10 in Banning, to be hit by at least two cars.

Jonathan Bresnahan, 25, of Banning,was on the south side of the freeway and walked into the eastbound lanes. The incident was reported at 6:32 p.m. and happened approaching Hargrave Street, the coroner's office reported.

A Toyota Camry driven by a 66-year-old Morongo Valley woman first struck Bresnahan. A Toyota Camry driven by a 39-year-old Palm Desert man also struck the pedestrian, California Highway Patrol Officer Dejuan Harris said.

There was possibly another vehicle that may have also struck Bresnahan, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Harris said.

It was uncertain whether coroner's officials determined whether Bresnahan deliberately walked across the freeway.
