A 52-year-old Palm Springs man was killed by a train this weekend, the Riverside County Coroner's office reported Monday.

Richard Poe was apparently walking on train tracks out in the Thermal area on Saturday afternoon, when he was struck by a train, according to coroner's reports.

Sheriff's deputies received a call at 3:44 p.m. Saturday and rushed to the area of Highway 111 and Avenue 66 where Union Pacific Railroad officials were investigating what happened, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Mike Tapp said.

"Foul play is not suspected at this point in the investigation," Tapp said on Sunday.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
