Occupy Coachella Valley Day Four - Dispatch from the Occupation

The city of Palm Desert has threatened to enforce city ordinances and evict Occupy Coachella Valley on Oct. 28 at 11 p.m.

The peaceful protesters of Occupy Coachella Valley continue their occupation of Palm Desert Civic Park now entering its fourth day and night.

Some updates:

1. We have launched Occupy Coachella Valley website. Please visit at http://occupycoachellavalley.org

2. Round-the-clock sanitation teams are ensuring that the encampment remains clean and above and beyond the city's own regulations. In fact, the encampment is the cleanest area of the Palm Desert .

3. More content will be posted on our livestream for the occupiers that are not able to be there everyday.

4. Tonight on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m., we will gather in solidarity in a peaceful vigil for Scott Olsen at Occupy Oakland.

For those who are unaware, Scott is a Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq. He was critically injured by a police projectile during a brutal police crackdown on Occupy Oakland the evening of Oct. 25.

Please donate to Scott Olsen's medical fund: http://goo.gl/LhlRN

IVAW is asking all Occupy encampments to hold solidarity events for Scott Olsen today at 7 pm in their respective time zones to show support for Scott’s health and his commitment to the 99% and the Occupy Movement.

The park closes at 11 p.m. and we have requested the media to be there to be observers to ensure that police intimidation and police violence in like Occupy Oakland do not occur.
