Occupy Coachella Valley Day Three - Dispatch from the Occupation

The peaceful protesters of Occupy Coachella Valley continue their occupation of Palm Desert Civic Park now entering its third day and night.

Some updates:

1. Working groups staffed with highly motivated protesters have been formed to coordinate various activities to grow the movement and mobilize the public and ensure the continued occupation of Coachella Valley. They are the Media/Public Outreach, Direct Action/Education, and Logistics.

2. The encampment infrastructure continues to grow with the creation of a kitchen and a library. A media center is in the works and we are working closely with the city with sanitation and encampment security.

3. We have launched a livestream so that others unable to attend in person can participate. A website is in the works and will launch soon.

4. MASS ACTION FOR OCT 27 @ 4 PM: We invite Occupiers to join to thank the City of Palm Desert for their recognition of our right to peacefully assemble and our right to free expression at their regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27, 4 p.m. at their Council Chambers in Palm Desert. Our goal is to make this a standing-room only crowd to show support for the occupiers of Occupy Coachella Valley.
