First Objet Trouvé Found Art Festival Added this Year!

INDIAN WELLS, CA – (MARCH 30, 2014) The 12th annual Indian Wells Arts Festival, ranked one of the 100 Best Fine Art Shows in the country by Sunshine Artists Magazine and 2014 Top 100 Events by the American Bus Association, opens Friday, April 4 and goes through Sunday, April 6.  Gates open each day at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry by 4 p.m.) at the newly expanded Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Main entry is now on Washington Street in Indian Wells.

Definitely put this event on your weekend itinerary!  This year’s festival – where Art is a Happening – will host more than 200 contemporary artists from 11 states, predominantly the Western and Pacific Northwest regions. Patrons will find original art including paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, photography, fine jewelry and crafts in every price range.

New at the festival this year will be the Palm Springs area’s first-ever Objet Trouvé Found Art Festival, creating a Festival of Festivals. Objet Trouvé is the idea of using everyday objects and ‘found’ materials to create stimulating works of art.

The cultural experience is enhanced with live music from jazz, blues, rock, classical, and world music by such groups as Incendio, Lao Tizer, and Rumproller with a special dance exhibition by the Aztec Dancers.

Available daily are food concessions – with a French theme this year -- wine tasting, plus an Eggs + Champagne in the Garden Sunday brunch until noon. Children’s activities, live demonstrations, interactive and hands-on art projects will educate and entertain people of all ages.

The entrance fee is $12 adults; children under 12 are free.  Parking is free and valet parking is available.
