Tennis fans will get their wish Saturday, when No. 2 Rafael Nadal will face No. 3 Roger Federer for the first time in Indian Wells.

Desert tennis fans will finally get to see their dream match in person: Rafael Nadal versus Roger Federer.

The World No. 2 player advanced to the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open with a three set win over Argentine David Nalbandian, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 on Friday.

Nadal improved his record to 13-2 on the season, advancing into the semi-finals for the third time in as many tournaments.

The Spaniard has yet to win a tournament this year, losing a marathon Australian Open final to Novak Djokovic and losing in the semis to Gael Monfils in Doha.

Nadal and Federer have played 27 head-to-head matches, but will play their first ever match in Indian Wells.

Nadal will face Federer for the second time this season, with the Mallocran native winning 6-7(5), 6-2, 7-6(5), 6-4 in the Australian Open semis.

Nadal holds a 18-9 match advantage over Federer, dominating the Swiss on clay. The two have split the 10 matches they have played on hard courts.
