Radwanska to Play Pannetta in BNP Paribas Open Final

In meeting of first time Indian Wells finalists, No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska will face No. 20 seed Flavia Pennetta in the women's singles final Sunday.

To reach the final Pennetta upset top seed Li Na 7-6(4), 6-3 Friday night.

"I'm surprised," Pennetta said. "In the beginning of the week if you told me, 'You're going to make the final here,' I would have said, 'Mmmm, I don't think so!' So I'm really happy."

Radwanska defeated No. 6 seed Simona Halep 6-3, 6-4, to book her spot in the final match.

"I did a couple of quarterfinals here and semis, but never the finals so of course I'm very happy to reach the final here finally after couple years trying," Radwanska said.

The Pole has won two previous WTA Premier Mandatory titles at 2011 Beijing and 2012 Miami.

Radwanska leads Pennetta 4-2 in their head-to-head series. However, Pennetta triumphed in their most recent meeting earlier this year in Dubai.

"I have to be really aggressive. I have to go for winners," Pennetta said about final. "But I can't rush too much, because she's a wall."
