Swiss Star Stan Wawrinka Enjoys Rare Moment Off the Court

World No. 3 Stanislas Wawrinka has been playing great tennis since losing a thrilling five-set match to Novak Djokovic at last year's U.S. Open.

The Swiss boasts an undefeated 11-0 record heading into Indian Wells, winning two titles including the season's first major the Australian Open.

Wawrinka spent a rare day away from the court traveling around Los Angeles to promote the BNP Paribas Open.

"I think it's great, especially since we don't do that too often," Wawrinka said. "To do a day completely out of the tennis court, I did practice this morning, but then all the day was about something else. I'm enjoying that time, I think it's important to get away a little bit from tennis."

Wawrinka received a private tour at Universal Studios, before filming a TV commercial for ESPN's SportsCenter and taking in a LA Kings hockey game.

The No. 3 ranked player is hoping to improve on his two BNP Paribas Open quarter-final appearances, in 2008 and 2011.

Fans can also catch Wawrinka in doubles action playing with fellow countryman Roger Federer. The superstars, who earned Olympic gold together in Beijing, won their first doubles match on Friday, 6-2, 6-7(4), 10-6 over sixth seeds Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.
