Alcohol May Have Had Role in Single Vehicle Crash

A Thousand Palms resident is arrested after colliding with a guardrail.

Palm Desert Police suspect alcohol may have been factor behind a single vehicle crash that happened Wednesday night.

Amy Milby, 48, of Thousand Palms was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

The crash was reported at 7:41 pm in the area of Portola Avenue and Dinah Shore Drive. Police officials said a red Pontiac Fiero traveling northbound on Portola ran a stop sign.

The vehicle continued through the intersection, struck and went under the guardrail at the north end of Portola, officials said.
