A 58-year-old Rancho Mirage man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.
Sheriff's deputies with the Palm Desert station responded at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday to a call of an impaired driver in the
area of Highway 111 and San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dan Devinny said in a news release.
"The suspect vehicle was spotted in the area and deputies prepared to make an enforcement stop near Hwy 111 and Lupine," Devinny said. "Prior to the enforcement stop, the vehicle collided with a parked vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles."
The driver, Stan Barron, 58, of Rancho Mirage was contacted and given a series of field sobriety
tests before he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to Devinny.
Barron was booked into the county jail in Indio.
