Sheriff's deputies in Palm Desert Monday sought an armed robber who took an undisclosed amount of money from a gas station clerk.
The clerk was not injured, authorities said.
The robbery in the 72300 block of Highway 111 was reported at 4:15 a.m., according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Brad Farwell.
Deputies rushed to the area and conducted an extensive search but were unsuccessful.
No description of the suspect has been released.
The investigation was continuing and anyone with information was urged to call investigators at 760-836-1600 or 760-341-7867 to report information anonymously.
