Bail Reduction Denied for Former COD Player

Jamie Smith remains jailed on $1 million bail as he awaits trial for the stabbing of a former teammate during a fight.

Jamie Smith, the former College of the Desert football player accused of stabbing a teammate during a fight last year, remains in custody after a motion to reduce his $1 million bail was denied this morning. 

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Thomas N. Douglass denied the motion during this morning’s hearing in Indio.  

Smith last September to charges of attempted murder with malice and assault with a deadly weapon.  He is next scheduled to appear for a trial readiness conference on July 26th.
