Banning Police Announce Death of Sergeant

Chief Leonard Purvis released a statement on the police department Facebook page.

Banning Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own this week, after the death of Sgt. Bill Caldwell on Sunday.

Chief Leonard Purvis released a statement on the police department Facebook page:

"The Department is saddened to announce the death of Sergeant Bill Caldwell who passed away on July 15, 2012.

Sergeant Caldwell was a 22 year veteran with the Banning Police Department, beginning employment in October of 1989, and most recently assigned to the Patrol Bureau.

Memorial Services have been scheduled as follows:

Friday, July 20th – 1000 hours
Weaver Mortuary
1177 Beaumont Avenue
Beaumont, CA 92223

On behalf of the entire Department, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Sergeant Bill Caldwell."

To the family of Bill Caldwell will be in our hearts and mind forever and he was the best neigbor and a great peace officer i give my deep and strongest condolences to his family and 2 daughters. Bill was like a second father to me when i needed someone to talk to he gave the best answer to any question you have or had. Bill wqs a wonderful person and loved his career and family. I wish i could be there for the memorial. Bill will be remembered as a wonderful father, peace officer and best friend may the thoughts and memories be remembered. Rest In Peace Sargent Bill Calwell you will always be remembered The Boyd Family

RIP Bill, you'll be missed. I will miss yours & your families happy faces at work & around town. :/ So sad. I remember years & years ago when I lived with him & he let my cousin & I sit in the back seat of his cop car, & told us if we were bad that's where we'd end up! Lol First & only time in that car! ;) Love ya Bill.

Concerned citizen, You are being disrespectful and rude. What the heck does a life insurance policy have to do with anything. You are intruding into the privacy of a family that is grieving and you know it, otherwise you would post your name. You should be ashamed of yourself.
