A fire severely damaged a modular home at a Palm Desert Country Club Wednesday— displacing residents— but no injuries were reported.
The fire at the Suncrest Country Club— in the 73400 block of Country Club Drive— was reported just before 7:30 p.m., according to Cal Fire officials.
Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the side and front of the single-story home, but all residents were safely evacuated, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County fire information officer Jody Hagemann.
The American Red Cross assisted the residents with temporary housing and other needs, Hagemann said.
