A fire early Saturday damaged a single-family home in the city of Indio, displacing two adults and two children and causing $200,000 damage but no injuries were reported.
The blaze at 81700 Dalea Ave. was reported at 5:47 a.m., according to Cal Fire’s Melody Hendrickson.
It began in the garage and arriving firefighters found the garage engulfed in flames; the fire spread into the home but was contained to that house, Hendrickson said.
Firefighters contained the blaze about 6:30 a.m., officials said.
The American Red Cross assisted residents with temporary housing and other needs, she said.
