Calexico Man With Gunshot Wound Left at Cathedral City Store

Police said the victim, who was dropped at a convenience store parking lot, had a gunshot wound to his upper right shoulder with an exit wound in the lower back.

A 25 year-old gunshot victim was hospitalized in serious condition Tuesday after he was delivered to the parking lot of a Cathedral City convenience store, police said.

The man, a Calexico resident whose name was not released, was the passenger in an SUV that pulled into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven on the 88,500 block of Dinah Shore Dr. around 10:15 p.m., Monday, said Cathedral City Police Sgt. Scott Sharpe.

Sharpe said the victim had a gunshot wound to his upper right shoulder with an exit wound in the lower back – the result of a shooting that police believe occurred on nearby Sky Blue Water Trail.

The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Sharpe said.

Anyone with information on the shooting was urged to call Cathedral City police at (760) 770-0398. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
