Candlelight Vigil Set To Honor Riverside County Victims

The first ceremony is set for April 12 at Civic Center Park in Palm Desert.

A series of candlelight vigils honoring the victims of homicides in Riverside County is set for next week, starting in Palm Desert.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will hold the first ceremony at the amphitheater at Civic Center Park April 12.

Rose Madsen of the Palm Desert-based Friends of Murder Victims was listed as the keynote speaker, according to district attorney's officials.

Each vigil will begin at 7 p.m.   

The following night Murrieta will host a second vigil at the Southwest Justice Center. Liz Avalos, whose two daughters were murdered, will speak.

On April 14, Riverside’s Victims Memorial Courtyard will be the site of the third vigil. Joseph Bonaminio, who is father of slain Riverside police officer Ryan Bonaminio, will be the main speaker for that ceremony.
