PD Man Charged In Domestic Dispute

A Palm Desert man is accused of entering a woman's home while armed with a gun, allegedly violating a domestic violence restraining order, according to the sheriff's department.

Misdemeanor charges were filed Monday against a Palm Desert man accused of forcing his way into a woman's home with a gun and barricading himself inside.

Daniel Brockman, 43, pleaded not guilty Monday afternoon to misdemeanor charges of possession of a firearm prohibited by a restraining order and violating a court order to prevent domestic violence.

Brockman's bail was set to $100,000 on Monday, according to court records.

He was on Aug. 18 following a brief struggle and the help of a police dog after deputies entered a home at 73936 Rancho Road, according to Sgt. Darin Oliver of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Oliver did not disclose how Brockman and the woman knew each other.

Brockman alleged forced his way into the home about 4 p.m. Aug. 14, Oliver reported.

Brockman is being at held at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

He is due back in court on Thursday for a pretrial hearing.
