A trial readiness conference is scheduled for an Indio courtroom today for two Los Angeles County men accused of robbing Leeds & Son fine jewelers in July 2011 and then leading police on a county-wide chase.
Zaque Xavier Sykes, 27, Joshua Marquise Madison, 18, both of Compton, and are accused in the July 1, 2011 robbery of Leeds & Son Fine Jewelers. A third person has already struck a plea deal with prosecutors. Read more about the incident here.
Each man is facing three counts of robbery, one count of burglary, and one count of evading arrest. All counts have an additional violent felony enhancement for gang activity.
The third man involved, Brandon King, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and one count of evading arrest. He has been sentenced to 8 years in prison.
